Our Ministries

Get Involved in Your Church and Community

We are sent to serve those in need and to make our community more loving and just. We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers and guides us in these ministries and that wherever there’s need and suffering, we meet Christ, already at work. The congregation helps us to be effective in ministry on our own by surrounding and supporting each member in his or her ministry. We are all called to use our individual gifts and talents to engage in the one ministry of Jesus Christ. There are many ways to be enriched and involved at our church.

Spiritual Growth

Pastor’s Bible Study: This study will re-start in the fall.

Women’s Bible Study: Tuesday morning at 10 AM. Contact the church office for the latest study.

Prayer Ministry: We believe strongly in the power of prayer! If you would like to be a part of this ministry, or if you have a prayer request that our team could be praying for, call the church office, fill out a prayer request form in the sanctuary or Thrift Store or email your request to the church info@davieumc.com.

The “Mustard Seed” Thrift Store: As an outreach ministry of our church, we have a wonderful thrift shop with a very wide variety of items for purchase. We also provide clothing vouchers for those in need – simply contact the church office and we will assist. Due to an arson fire in May of 2017, this ministry is only open the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Bread of Life – On Friday mornings volunteers hand out bread and pastries to individuals and families in need. The chapel is open for prayer and prayer is offered to anyone requesting prayer.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: Meets the second Tuesday of each month at 10 am in the Chapel (located next to Bragan Fellowship Hall). We meet to knit or crochet shawls to be given to those in need of special prayer. No experience is needed – we would love to teach you!

Feed My Sheep: The second Saturday of each month, we meet at the church to prepare meals to feed the hungry of our community in Dania. A hot meal is provided, along with a bag meal and other necessities such as toiletries, socks, etc. Donations of time, canned goods and small toiletries (hotel sized) are always welcome.

But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
